Registration for the Fall 2026 season will be open from June 1 to September 13. The Build the Moon Challenge uses the ICS Portal to host materials, team registration, submissions, and evaluations. If you do not already have a free account on the ICS Portal, you will be prompted to create one before completing registration for your team. Each team is required to have one adult “coach” (typically a teacher, but can also be a parent or other adult 18+ years old). One coach may register as many teams as they would like (up to 10 students per team) – there is no limit on the number of teams per school/organization. However, students may only be on one team.
Registration cost is $449 (+ shipping) per team and grants full access to the Build the Moon Challenge. Digital materials will be available in August and all kits will ship in mid- to late-September.
